Frequently Asked Questions

Basic Usage

Q: Is this calculator free?
A: Yes, completely free. All calculations are performed locally in your browser. No registration or payment required.
Q: Do I need to create an account?
A: No. This is a pure frontend application. All data is stored locally in your browser and is not uploaded to any server.
Q: Which countries/regions are supported?
A: Currently supports China, United States, and Europe. The system will automatically identify statutory holidays and currency based on your selection.
Q: Can I calculate income across multiple years?
A: Yes, but the date range is limited to last year, current year, and next year. The system will automatically load holiday data for the corresponding years.

Features

Q: Why are certain dates automatically excluded?
A: The system automatically excludes weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and statutory holidays. You can view the specific exclusion reason for each date in the "Excluded Dates" table.
Q: How do I set half-day leave?
A: When adding a leave range, select "Leave Period" as "Half Day (Morning)" or "Half Day (Afternoon)". The system will automatically calculate it as 0.5 days.
Q: How is overtime calculated?
A: The system defaults to 8 hours = 1 day. You can manually adjust overtime hours, with a maximum of 24 hours per day (equals 3 days). For example, if you work 16 hours overtime in one day, it counts as 2 days.
Q: What's the difference between monthly salary calculation and daily/hourly?
A: Monthly salary uses a special formula: Total Income = (Scheduled Workdays - Leave Days + Overtime Days) × (Monthly Salary ÷ Scheduled Workdays). This provides a more accurate calculation for monthly salary arrangements. Daily and hourly rates are calculated directly based on workdays.
Q: What are "Scheduled Workdays"?
A: Scheduled Workdays refer to the total workdays in the calculation date range, excluding holidays and weekends, but not considering leave and overtime. This value is used as a baseline for monthly salary calculations.

Data & Privacy

Q: Is my calculation data saved to the server?
A: No. All calculations are performed locally in your browser, and data is not uploaded to any server. We only store your theme preference (dark/light mode) and holiday data cache locally to improve your experience.
Q: Where does the holiday data come from?
A: For China, the system fetches the latest data from public holiday data sources on GitHub. For the United States and Europe, fixed holiday rules are used. All data is cached locally to improve loading speed.
Q: Why is Google Analytics needed?
A: Google Analytics helps us understand website usage, such as traffic and user behavior. This data is anonymous and does not identify you personally. You can disable tracking through your browser's privacy settings.

Export & Results

Q: What does the exported Excel file contain?
A: The Excel file contains three sections: 1) Basic information (country/region, currency, period, workdays, total hours, total income, salary type); 2) Paid days details (number, date, paid days, payment note, work content); 3) Excluded dates details (number, date, exclusion reason, note).
Q: Can I edit the exported Excel file?
A: Yes. The exported Excel file is in standard .xls format and can be opened and edited in Excel, WPS, and other software. We recommend editing "Work Content" and "Note" on the webpage before exporting for a more complete file.
Q: Why doesn't the calculation result match my expectation?
A: Please check the following: 1) Is the date range correct? 2) Are leave and overtime dates within the calculation range? 3) Is the salary type and amount correct? 4) Check the "Excluded Dates" table to see which dates were excluded. If you still have issues, please contact us.
